Costa Mesa, California, is located in Orange County. The city is located just one mile from the Pacific Ocean and covers 16 square miles. It has a population of about 110,000, evolving from and early farming community of 15,000. The city is known for its eclectic dining scene and was recently named by Rand/McNally and USA Today as the best small town for restaurants west of the Mississippi River.
Costa Mesa is bordered to the east by John Wayne Airport and Newport Back Bay Estuary, to the north by Santa Ana, and to the south by Newport Mesa and Newport Beach.
